GCSE Results 2017

Yet again we are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results. In a year that has seen new exam courses for many GCSEs and the new grading system of 1 to 9, Broadlands students have continued to excel. All at the Academy are delighted that a greater number of students than the national average have achieved the new ‘9’ grade (above an A* standard) in both English and Maths. An amazing 10% of their students achieved over 8 GCSE’s at a grade A or higher.

A special congratulations to Samuel Pollard who achieved an incredible 6 A*’s and three grade 9’s (one of only 2,000 students in the country to do so), Katherine Edgar (6A*’s and two grade 9’s) and Kelsey & Kristina Lloyd (sisters who achieved an outstanding 18 A’s and A*’s between them).

Amongst the excellent results this year, 100% of students who studied Triple Science achieved above a C grade, with over half achieving the highest grades of A’s and A*’s. Continued success in English is also fantastic, with over three-quarters of students achieving or exceeding the new grade 4 bench mark. The curriculum is diverse at Broadlands and success in the core subjects is matched with amazing achievements in subjects such as Music. A challenging course nationally, over 80% achieved a C grade or above with 40% of these at a grade A.

"Congratulations to all the students and staff at Broadlands and I know everyone has worked extremely hard for these results. A real breadth of success, that builds upon our OFSTED Good grading.” Mr Hall, Principal
