How to apply for a place at Broadlands Academy
Children born between 1 September 2003 and 31 August 2004 may transfer to secondary education in September 2015
You will need to complete your home Local Authority’s (the Council where you are liable for Council Tax) Common Application Form. This is found electronically by following the link for Secondary School Admissions 2015 on your home Local Authority website.
Children already in school have a Unique Identification Number (UID) and your home Local Authority will have contacted you with this information. The UID number can then be used to make an application on-line as this makes the application process easier for you. You can make your on-line transfer application for a Secondary school place from 1 September 2014 to 31 October 2014.
You can apply for the school of your choice regardless of whether or not that school is in your home Local Authority. Once you have logged on, you will be given choices of the schools in your home Local Authority. If you live outside of Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES), there will be an arrow that you can click on which will identify the other Local Authority’s in your locality. This will include B&NES. You will then need to click on ‘Schools’ and the list of schools in the B&NES Authority will appear and this will include Broadlands Academy. The only way to guarantee a place at Broadlands Academy is to select us as first preference. We have kept our pupil admission number at 217 for this year group as our pupil numbers in our current Year 7 doubled this year.
If you would like support in making your application, you are welcome to contact us and make an appointment and we will be happy to assist you with the process on-line. Alternatively, if you wish to contact your home local authority please see contact details below.
